Decadent Chocolate Cookies

February 14, 2012

These are the perfect cookies to bake on Valentine’s Day for your friends and family.  They taste so rich and decadent that your friends and family will think you spent a million dollars on them!

This is my version of “Bittersweet Brownie Drops with Milk Chocolate Chunks” from Cooking Club magazine Winter 2012.

1/3 c. plus 1 tbsp. all-purpose flour             1/8 tsp. baking soda

8 oz. unsweet chocolate, chopped                1/4 c. unsalted butter

1 c. sugar                                                                  1/2 tsp. vanilla

1/4 tsp. salt                                                             2 eggs

1 c. walnuts                                                              1 c. milk chocolate chips

Heat oven to 350 degree F.   Whisk flour and baking soda in small bowl.  Melt unsweet chocolate and butter in double broiler pan, stirring frequently until smooth.  Remove from burner.  Add sugar, vanilla, and salt.  Add eggs one at a time, stirring until just blended.  Add flour mixture.  Stir well.  Cool to room temperature.  Stir in walnuts and chocolate chips.  Drop one rounded tbsp of batter per cookie on baking sheet.

Bake about 10 – 15 minutes.  Cool.  Enjoy eating the most decadent cookie ever!
