Chili-Spiced Tortilla Chips and Black Bean Dip

February 19, 2013

Kevin loves to cook healthy food. Our adaptations of these recipes come from “1,000 Lowfat Recipës.” The chips by themselves tend to be bland, but with the dip, they are dynamite! You won’t want to use any other chip but these with this healthy dip.

Chili-Spiced Tortilla Chips:

8 corn tortillas 1 Tbsp olive oil
1 tsp. ground cumin 2 tsp. chili powder

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Cut each tortilla in fourths. Dip or brush oil on tortillas. After mixing the spices, sprinkle on the tortillas. Bake in oven about 15 minutes or until crisp.

Black Bean Dip

2 cans black beans, drained and rinsed
1 c. medium salsa
1/4 c. lowfat sour cream
1/4 c. nonfat Greek yogurt
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp. Tabasco sauce

Mash the beans with a food procesor or by hand until smooth. Stir in remaining ingredients.
