Roasted Garlic-Rubbed Sirloin Steak

January 6, 2014

This is a good, healthy recipe that was liked by everyone in the family.  These would even be good as fajita meat.  This is from Ready, Set, Go Weight Watcher’s Cookbook.  (Renee)

5 large garlic cloves , unpeeled.

1 tsp dried basil

1/2 tsp Italian seasoning

1 lb boneless sirloin steak, trimmed and sliced into thin strips.  Can use chicken breasts instead.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.  Wrap garlic in foil and roast for about 15 minutes.  (Can do this in advance.)  When cool enough to handle, squeeze soft garlic from each clove into small bowl.  Add basil and Italian seasoning.  Rub both sides of steak or chicken with this mixture.  Fry in cast iron skillet until done.
