Healthy Strawberry Vanilla Chocolate Chip Breakfast Shake

For a complete breakfast meal where you get all the nutrients you need, serve this drink with a plate of eggs and toast.  Those on a lowfat/low sugar diet will appreciate the taste of this drink that has just a touch of sugar to take the tartness out of the strawberries, while providing just a taste of sweetness.  This is my version of “Creamy Dreamy Strawberry Vanilla Shake” found in The South Beach Diet Quick and Easy Cookbook.  (Kevin Wilson)

1 c. plan fat-free or low-fat sugar yogurt

2 c. 1% milk

2 c. frozen strawberries

1 tbsp. sugar

2 tsp. vanilla extract

(1/2 c. chocolate chips) optional  (We loved it so much, we are going to make it every time with them!)

Place all the ingredients in a blender.  Puree until smooth.  Serve cold.  Serves 4.  IMG_2080
