Philidelphia Steak and Cheese Sandwiches

Excellent sandwich!  Hearty and filling!  This comes from Paula Deen’s Quick and Easy Meals 2011, Special Edition.  Great recipes from one of my favorite people, Paula Deen!  (Kevin Wilson)

1 Tbsp. olive oil

1 lb top round steak, trimmed and thingly sliced

2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce, divided

1 onion, thinly sliced

1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced

1 tsp. salt

1 tsp. pepper

1/2 tsp. garlic powder

6 slices of provolone cheese, torn into small pieces

4 hoagie rolls or steak sandwich rolls

In a large nonstick skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat.  Add steak and 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce; cook for 5 minutes or until steak is browned.  Remove steak from pan.  Add onion, bell pepper, and remaining 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce to skillet.  Cook for 8 minutes or until onion slices are translucent.  Return cooked steak to skillet with onion mixture.  Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.  Reduce heat to low; add provolone to steak mixture.  Cook for 4 minutes over low heat, stirring constantly, until cheese melts.  Divide steak mixture among hoagie rolls and serve warm.
