Papaya Shake

June 1, 2015

Papaya has been a term in Kevin’s vocabulary for more than a decade and a half now. He was first introduced to the papaya enzyme by his chiropractor, Dr. David Luquette, who knew Kevin could benefit from its digestive properties. Though Kevin took the enzyme, he had never seen the actual papaya fruit. The first picture captures some of his excitement as he makes the connection between the enzyme and the actual fruit. The second picture is of the actual shake. We want to dedicate this recipe to Dr. Luquette, a very important doctor in his life, who will always have a special place in our hearts. This is Kevin’s version of Bobby Flay’s Papaya-Banana Smoothie from Foodnetwork.com. It is brought to you by his Backers/Crew.

Ingredients

1 cup skim milk
1/4 cup Greek yogurt
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 small ripe banana, peeled and sliced
1 cup ripe papaya, peeled, seeded and chopped
1 cup ice cubes
Chocolate chips, optional

Directions

Combine the milk, yogurt, vanilla, banana, papaya, (chocolate chips), and ice cubes in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into glasses or cups.
