Peach Cobbler

June 6, 2015

This recipe is not only delicious, but it is quick and simple to make.  We thank Diane Baker, one of Kevin’s Kickstarter Backers, for submitting this recipe that her grandmother use to make.  Grandmother Reynolds is her grandmother on her mother’s side.  Check out Kevin’s step-by-step instruction on his youtube channel by searching for Kevin Wilson’s Home Cooked Cuisine.  This can be made with any fruit; we just chose peaches.  Thank you Diane for submitting this recipe. Thank you, too, for your support and encouragement in his Kickstarter project!  We love and appreciate you!

1 stick butter

1 c. flour

1 c. sugar

1 tsp. salt

2 tsp. baking powder

1 tsp. nutmeg

1 tsp. cinnamon

1 c. buttermilk, enough to make batter pourable

1 c. peaches or other fruit

Preheat oven to 350 degree oven.  Melt 1 stick of butter in a 13 x 9 pan.  Add all dry ingredients to a mixing bowl.  Mix well. Mix in buttermilk.  Pour batter on top of melted butter in pan.  Add fruit, pouring any remaining fruit juice over the fruit.  Bake cobbler until the crust is not doughy, about 30 minutes.  Serve warm with vanilla ice cream if desired.  Enjoy!
