Fourth of July Firecracker Explosion Trifle

Kevin let me work with him on this creation of his.  It’s delicious and packs some good vitamins and antioxidants with the cherries and blueberries.  Each bite is an explosion of flavor.  He made it in honor of the Fourth of July celebration at church.  This Kevin’s Kreation is brought to you by his Kickstarter backers.


1 16 oz Sara Lee Pound Cake
30 fresh cherries, depitted
½ pint blueberries
11 oz can mandarin oranges with juice
Tub of Cool Whip


Slice the pound cake, then cut each slice into 6 parts.  Divide into 3 equal parts.  In a bowl, mix together cherries, blueberries, and mandarin oranges with the juice.  Place first 1/3 of cake in a trifle dish.  Add 1/3 of fruit mixture.  Spread a thin layer of Cool Whip.  Repeat steps.  Lastly, place last 1/3 of cake squares in dish and top with last 1/3 of fruit mixture and juice.  (The fruit will be the topping.)
