Sweet Oven Fried Chicken

If you are tired of the same old, fried chicken, then you will want to try this recipe.  Its flavors are perfectly blended together to give one of the tastiest and moist chickens you can bake.  Kevin really liked this chicken!  This is his version of “Sweet Herbed Oven Fried Chicken” from Better Homes and Garden Special Interest Skinny One-Dish 2015 and is brought to you by his Kickstarter backers.


2 eggs, lightly beaten

4 tbsp.. milk

2 c. Kashi Go Lean Crunch, Naturally Sweetened Multigrain Cluster Cereal, crushed

2 c. cornflakes, crushed

1/2 tsp basil

1/2 tsp. salt

1/4 tsp. black pepper

1 whole chicken, cut in pieces

Directions.  Preheat oven to 375.  Grease a large baking pan.  In a shallow bowl, combine eggs and milk.  In another shallow bowl, combine crushed cereals, basil, salt, and pepper.  Dip chicken into egg mixture, then into cereal mixture, turning to coat.  Arrange chicken in the prepared baking dish, making sure the pieces do not touch.  Sprinkle chicken with any remaining cereal mixture. Bake for 1 hour.  Do not turn chicken while baking.
